Business Finance Matters (BFM)
Now fully supported and endorsed by The Guild of Business Finance Professionals (bfpguild.org), the podcast seamlessly moves into its second series.
Hosted by David Grosse and Trevor Pirie, the podcast focuses on all matters that are relevant to the business finance marketplace.
David and Trevor have both worked in the business finance space for over 35 years.
David is the founder of Number Eight Business Finance and specialises in providing advice and access to all business finance products available today.
Trevor is the founder of Alexander Angel and provides independent consultancy to lenders, brokers and software companies. He has also been instrumental in coordinating and founding The Guild of Business Finance Professionals. https://bfpguild.org/
The main cause of the podcast is to help provide a bigger signpost and voice for those professionals that are trained, qualified and are providing an essential support mechanism for SME's that need to gain access to the best-fit finance products available.
Following the collapse of the UK high street banks in c.2008, business owners have found it difficult to find the best finance pathways. Despite various efforts with the British Business Bank and HM Treasury to support the signposting needed, all efforts have yet to be actioned or prioritised.
The podcast features guests from all areas of the market including lenders, industry experts, finance intermediaries and business owners.
Business Finance Matters (BFM)
Another little filler - 2 mugs, talk about mugs; business failures on the rise; ends with a cheese story
The boys have returned from their festive adventures! Trev enjoyed sunny days on the Southampton docks, while Dave endured the cold on the Algarve—or maybe it was the other way around. Either way, they’re back, and this episode is packed with the usual mix of humour and insight.
First up, there’s an emotional chat about their new mugs, proudly adorned with both the Podcast logo, and The Guild’s logo to highlight the strong partnership between the two.
The conversation then turns to a sobering topic: the troubling rise of business failures throughout 2024. Trev and Dave express their concern about this ongoing trend and their frustration at the lack of action to being taken by those that run the run country et al. They share their personal insights and some practical, common-sense solutions for tackling the issue, adding some unusual depth to the discussion.
Of course, it wouldn’t be an episode without a dose of light-hearted chaos. This time, Trev discovers a mysterious tub of cheese in the boot of Dave’s car, leading to some hilarity that only these two could deliver.
In an exciting new twist, the boys announce a monthly competition and, in addition, they’re calling on Guild members to submit case studies, with the chance to win... well, some very cheap looking mugs.
