Business Finance Matters (BFM)
Now fully supported and endorsed by The Guild of Business Finance Professionals (bfpguild.org), the podcast seamlessly moves into its second series.
Hosted by David Grosse and Trevor Pirie, the podcast focuses on all matters that are relevant to the business finance marketplace.
David and Trevor have both worked in the business finance space for over 35 years.
David is the founder of Number Eight Business Finance and specialises in providing advice and access to all business finance products available today.
Trevor is the founder of Alexander Angel and provides independent consultancy to lenders, brokers and software companies. He has also been instrumental in coordinating and founding The Guild of Business Finance Professionals. https://bfpguild.org/
The main cause of the podcast is to help provide a bigger signpost and voice for those professionals that are trained, qualified and are providing an essential support mechanism for SME's that need to gain access to the best-fit finance products available.
Following the collapse of the UK high street banks in c.2008, business owners have found it difficult to find the best finance pathways. Despite various efforts with the British Business Bank and HM Treasury to support the signposting needed, all efforts have yet to be actioned or prioritised.
The podcast features guests from all areas of the market including lenders, industry experts, finance intermediaries and business owners.

Special Guest - RORY UNDERWOOD MBE DL
In this episode, Dave and Trev sit down with rugby legend and business owner Rory Underwood.
From his illustrious sports career to his time in the Royal Air Force, Rory opens up about the challenges he’s faced in the business world as Founder and Managing Director of Wingman Limited.
He reflects on the struggles of navigating the 2008 financial crisis and the pandemic—when traditional banks offered no support—highlighting a reality many small business owners can relate to then...and now.
The conversation also turns to The Guild of Business Finance Professionals, with Rory passionately supporting its mission. And of course, rugby makes its way into the mix, leading to a friendly wager on the upcoming Six Nations clash between England and Scotland.
Tune in for a candid and compelling conversation with a true gentleman with a story to tell—while, for once, the hosts say very little!
